Akilah and her teddy bear are the best of friends. Ever since she was a little baby she has been taking her cuddly friend everywhere she goes. However, her family discovered that her teddy bear was missing while they were dining inside a restaurant in a mall in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu last April 16.
Her mother Apple Jessica Torres immediately took to Facebook to search for the missing teddy bear. In a post shared last May 1, the little girl’s mother offered a reward of P10,000 to anyone who can return the stuffed toy to her seven-year-old daughter.

In an interview with GMA, Torres was quoted as to saying,
Her post immediately went viral. As expected many fraudulent netizens messaged them, claiming they found the missing teddy bear.
Luckily, a kind teacher from Cebu City confirmed that the teddy bear was in her care.
Akilah’s “best friend” finally found its way back home after it was delivered to their house through express delivery.
Torres revealed that at first, the kind teacher refused to accept the reward money saying that she understands the situation since she also has kids. However, the family insisted in giving the reward money to the unnamed woman believing she deserved it.

The mother was very thankful for this amazing stroke of luck:
Sobra niya kaming na-touch kaya kahit ayaw niyang magpa-mention ng name, ayaw niyang ma-viral o ano, isa siyang good example talaga.
On her latest Facebook status, Torres expressed her overwhelming gratitude and happiness by saying,
“Oh dear akilah! Thank you Jesus!! Thank you so much sayo Ma’am na nakadampot kay teddy bear!”
The family is currently based in Alaska, USA and was just here in the country for a short vacation.
