Actor Mon Confiado goes great lengths to portray character for “The Diplomat Hotel”

While everyone is raving about the mainstream industry, independent actors and actresses are starting to get attention for their unparalleled commitment to the craft. Since 1993, Mon Confiado has starred in a string of films — ranging from drama, action, horror, and biographicals. Born to a father who himself was a character actor, it wasn’t hard for him to grasp the nature of his job.

Now, with over 22 years of experience, it’s safe to say that Mon is one of the best in the business.

Proving the extent of his capabilities is his film “The Diplomat Hotel” in 2013, in which he took great pains to achieve his character by “abandoning his body”.

Mon — who has previously practiced method acting for his roles — lost 40 lbs. of weight, shaved his hair, and changed his voice and posture as preparation for the horror movie.

Oh, and did we mention that he also had to sleep in the Diplomat Hotel Ruins for the entire shooting, too?
