The retired, undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. knew the perfect place to enjoy some much needed downtime.
ABS-CBN reported that The Money flew to the country to bask in the glory of one of Philippines’ most coveted jewels, El Nido, Palawan.
The famous boxer arrived at Manila early morning last May 8. As expected, dozens of people came out to give Floyd Mayweather Jr. a warm Filipino welcome. But the renowned athlete didn’t stay in the city for long as he and his entourage went straight to Palawan hours later.

Floyd, who beat our very own Manny Pacquaio in an epic match done last May 2, 2015, shared that he was in the country for a photo shoot and a quick vacation. The boxing legend said that he’s very happy to be here and had the chance to interact with the people.
He also revealed that this visit marks the first time he stepped inside the Philippines. Floyd said:
“Actually it’s my first time, but this would not be my last time.”

Video clips and pictures of Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s first time in Palawan showed how much he’s having fun and enjoying what we have to offer. During his interview, the retired boxer shared that he will no longer be fighting inside the ring but he’s looking to sign some upcoming talents that have the potential to become the next great athlete.
