Memorial home allows dog to say goodbye to her owner and best friend of 13 years

Have you ever lost a beloved dog you’ve been with for many years? If yes, then you know how utterly difficult and painful it is to lose someone so loyal and loving. Even though they’ve only been there for a short part of your life. But have you ever thought just how much more painful and devastating it is for a dog to lose its owner? Comparatively, its known its owner for most of its life. Luckily for Sadie the dog, this memorial home gets it.

For the past 13 years, Sadie spent every day with her owner and best friend, only to lose him to a heart attack so suddenly.

The loyal dog was overcome with unimaginable sadness, so much so that she repeatedly put her head on and beneath the man’s hand after he passed, desperate to feel his care for the last time.

As loved ones mourned and grieved the passing of Sadie’s owner, so did she. For over a week after her best friend’s passing, Sadie could hardly eat and sleep.

Netizens from all walks of life could relate to this moment.

When the man’s remains were brought to a memorial home, the man’s widow couldn’t come without the adorable dog tagging along. After all, they’ve always considered Sadie a huge part of the family.

Luckily, the memorial home thought the same — that Sadie couldn’t possibly be okay without being able to bid her best friend a last goodbye.

“As Sadie approached the [pine box] you could both feel and hear the emotion in the room from the guests. Not a dry eye in the room. It was an emotional and hair-raising moment,”explained the man’s widow.

Even netizens who weren’t there for the actual moment could imagine how emotionally-charged it was:

What the memorial home allowed turned out to be very good for the loving dog. As she was able to say farewell and was able to get some sort of closure, she finally got to eat and sleep properly — something her owner surely loved witnessing from wherever he is now.
