Stunning photos of Boracay wows Facebook users

Two months into the Boracay rehabilitation program, many were delighted to see the evident progress of the island.

Back on April 26, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the shut down of the island. According to the government, the island needed an intensive clean-up operation to regain it’s lost beauty.

Of course, many were skeptical about the bold move.

Others said that the clean-up timetable of 6 months was unrealistic and that the government will never be able to rehabilitate Boracay Island.”

Thankfully, the huge risk they took is seemingly paying off. One Facebook page, named MannyPiñol, shared stunning photos of the island taken yesterday.

Clean spotless shores and clear blue waters greeted social media users. The photos were in contrast with the tourist-studded Boracay months ago.

The breathtaking photos were courtesy of the Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Division (RAFID).

Furthermore, the administration confirmed that Boracay will be ready to welcome beach-goers again on October, as promised.

“Secretary Cimatu, head of the Inter-Agency Task Force, assured the Cabinet that the island will reopen on Oct. 26 and tourists could start flying in Oct. 27.”
