Most parents consider playing video games as something that will negatively affect their children in terms of study, behavior, and socialization. Who can’t blame them when there are videos of children cursing while playing Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. There were also some reports that someone is hurt over playing video games.
Despite these reports and observations, a lot of Filipinos are still playing online games as their leisure time with friends. Varsity players of online games like DOTA and League of Legends have been defending their leisure, saying that such online games can actually help the players’ critical thinking.
With the benefits of online gaming like DOTA, players want to enforce a positive influence on other non-players and spend their time on such games. This is what a viral Facebook post wants to show.
The Facebook post, which garnered more than 22,000 reactions and 19,000 shares, shows a brother of an online player giving P1,000 to him to use it in playing online games like DOTA.
