A few days after their video drew flak on social media, six of the seven young men surrendered to the Malabon City police and expressing their apologies to the President whom they mocked.
The chongke boys also explained that the video was taken back in August 2016 and was only meant for their personal purposes but spread on the internet after one of their online accounts was hacked.
The video reached the attention of Duterte’s chief aide Bong Go who said that he will make sure to show the video to the President.
Bong Go said.
Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque called out the attention of the young men although he admitted not seeing the viral video yet.
“They’re never allowed to do that [smoking marijuana]. If we could find out where they are, then they will be put in proper custody of individuals who will provide them necessary services,” Roque said in a press briefing.
