Selling pirated DVDs and other counterfeit products is against the law and yet it seems a lot of vendors have the guts to sell them in the public. It may seem harmless and it gives more access to people who want to watch the latest blockbuster hit with a tight budget but it harms the movie industry as they don’t benefit from it.
Since October is the “National Anti-Privacy Month”, the Optical Media Board, the agency tasked to implement the Anti-Piracy Law in the country, had an operation in Ever Commonwealth to confiscate the pirated DVDs and other counterfeit products there.
However, tensions rose when they were going to confiscate the products and the Muslim sellers refused them to do so.
In the video posted by netizen AJ Pangandaman, it was not easy for the Optical Media Board to conduct their operation as the sellers started complaining on how this is just their source of income. Some said that they have been selling pirated DVDs there for a long time.
Everyone became threatened when one of the members of the operating group tried to show his firearm to them.
While the two sides are arguing, someone shouted “Allahu Akbar”, telling the operating group that the Muslim sellers will be as one and if one refused to let them confiscate their products then no one will. The Optical Media Board operating group were ordered to practice maximum tolerance so they did not use the guns they brought.

The Optimal Media Board group just stepped backed and delayed their operation. They said they will go back there with police backup to make sure that they will confiscate their products with a better coordination with the sellers.
Netizens said the operating group should have brought police to properly confiscate the items.
